Yes, I did see that. Thankfully, they aren’t eliminating all of them. Charles Stross complained about this with when he was writing Halting State – that every time he’d think of some bizarre thing to put in the book, events would overtake it.
This is the second time I’ve had to deal with this – I imagine there will be more.
